4. Permissions Used and Their Purpose

The Add-on requests the following permissions, which are strictly necessary for its functionality:

• contextMenus: To add the "Show Image Metadata" option to the right-click context menu.
• activeTab: To gain temporary access to the active tab when you click the context menu item.
• scripting: Required to programmatically inject the content script into the active tab.
• host_permissions: <all_urls>: Allows the Add-on to fetch image data from various domains. This does NOT grant access to your browsing history or page content unless activated by you for a specific image.

5. Data Storage and Retention

• All metadata extraction and display occur in real-time.
• No metadata or image data is permanently stored by the Add-on.
• The overlay and its content are removed when you close the overlay, navigate away, or close the tab.
